Excavation, Grading & Base Installation for Commercial Development in Southeast Michigan

Our team recently completed a full site preparation project for a commercial parking lot in Southeast Michigan. Proper site preparation is one of the most important steps in any asphalt or concrete project, as the strength of the finished surface depends on the quality of the base underneath.

This project involved clearing the existing surface, performing excavation, and preparing the area for future asphalt paving. The site required careful grading to ensure proper drainage and long-term durability for heavy commercial traffic.

After excavation was completed, we installed and compacted a new aggregate base to create a stable foundation for the parking lot. Proper compaction helps prevent sinking, cracking, and premature surface failure.

Because commercial lots must handle constant vehicle traffic, delivery trucks, and changing weather conditions, extra attention was given to base thickness, grading, and drainage control.
